Celebrating Falkirk East Pipers at World Piping Championships 2023

That the Parliament congratulates Miss Buchan of Larbert High School and Emma, a former Braes High School pupil, for their part in the Peoples Ford Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band winning the World Pipe Band Championships 2023; understands that the Peoples Ford Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band has been competing in the championship for many years and was announced as the winner on 19 August 2023, in Glasgow; notes that around 190 bands from 15 different countries participated in the competition at Glasgow Green; acknowledges what it sees as the importance of local initiatives, such as Falkirk Schools Pipe Band, Larbert High School’s Academy of Piping and Drumming, Falkirk Council Instrumental Music Services and Falkirk Traditional Music Project, in providing young musicians from across the Falkirk district with access to instruments and tuition; congratulates all those musicians from across the Falkirk district who participated in the Peoples Ford Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band and contributed to being named World Pipe Band Champions 2023, and wishes the musicians well for the future.
