That the Parliament congratulates community nurse for NHS Ayrshire and Arran, Lindsey Howie, on being awarded the Isabella Kimmett Compassionate Care Award on 7 June 2023; notes that the award celebrates nursing, midwifery and allied health professionals, GP and care home staff who have shown compassionate care qualities, and is presented only twice per year; understands that Lindsey was nominated for the award by one of her patient’s husbands, who wanted to show appreciation for the care that she provided to his wife at the end of her life; further understands that she showed care not only for the patient but also for the family by providing support and communication with third-party agencies to help during their bereavement; salutes the role of the NHS workforce; recognises Lindsey for her hard work and commitment to her role, and wishes her continued success in her career ahead.
