That the Parliament congratulates North Lanarkshire's Cooper Craft Butchers and owner, Laura Black, on winning the first ever Haggis World Championships; understands that Laura stood against 70 other contenders at the championships that took place at the Craft Butchers Trade Fair, on 14 May 2023; notes that the award-winning haggis is a 40-year-old family recipe, which the head judge described as “near-perfection”; understands that the family business has been running since 1982, which Laura took over after her parents retired; notes the popularity of Cooper's Bellshill butchers with local shoppers, and its successful butchers in Motherwell; acknowledges what it sees as their high-quality produce; applauds all of the local staff at Cooper Craft Butchers for this outstanding achievement, and wishes them all the best for their plans to expand the business.
