That the Parliament congratulates Janey Godley on winning the inaugural Sir Billy Connolly Spirit of Glasgow Award at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival; understands that this award aims to celebrate the city of Glasgow and the Glaswegian warmth, resilience and sense of humour; believes that Ms Godley won this award after showcasing her own humour, resilience, openness, unapologetic nature and depth; understands that Sir Billy Connolly stated that Ms Godley "is a great girl, great comedian and an extraordinary life story", and commends all other comedians shortlisted for this award.
