That the Parliament welcomes the launch of the 19th edition of the Glasgow Film Festival (GFF) on 1 March 2023; understands that the GFF is the second-largest film festival in the UK, celebrating world cinema and providing what it sees as a fantastic showcase for the best of Scottish film; further understands that the 2023 festival will take place in venues across Glasgow, including the Glasgow Film Theatre, and on the Glasgow Film At Home online player, as well as in cinema venues across the UK; acknowledges what it considers to be the festival’s long tradition of championing new talent and its success in building a reputation for an international programme of the world’s best films alongside a dynamic fusion of cross-sector, screen-based events and commissions; welcomes what it sees as the valuable economic contribution that the GFF makes to Glasgow and Scotland, and wishes the GFF a very successful 19th edition in 2023.
