That the Parliament commends the staff and pupils at St Aidan’s Primary School of Wishaw, in North Lanarkshire, for their efforts for the environment by setting up a collection point for hard-to-recycle items that cannot be discarded in household waste or are not included in kerbside collections; understands that the school signed up to a number of TerraCycle’s free recycling programmes in which people can take items, such as laundry products, food storage containers, drinks bottles, Pringles tubes, to the drop off point; notes that the school then sends the collected waste to TerraCycle, which recycles the waste into plastic pellets to be used by manufacturers; further notes that the collected waste is redeemed as monetary donations to the school’s supported charities, which include Mary’s Meals, Missio and SCIAF, and congratulates the staff and pupils in their endeavours for the environment by recycling and reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill, while simultaneously raising funds for charity.
