That the Parliament congratulates Anne McCreadie of Inverness on being awarded Age Scotland’s Jess Barrow Award for Campaigning and Influencing for her decades of voluntary work for Merkinch Community Centre, making it a warm and welcoming place for older people to get together, make friends and share activities, helping to reduce isolation and loneliness amongst older people in Inverness; understands that Mrs McCreadie began her voluntary work in 1976 as Merkinch Community Centre was in development, and has served as its chairperson since the 1990s; thanks Mrs McCreadie for her tireless efforts in working at Merkinch Community Centre and overseeing its development for the whole community, including disabled people, and younger people attending after-school groups, as well as older groups; understands that even at the age of 82 Mrs McCreadie has no intention of stopping her voluntary work at the centre, and wishes Mrs McCreadie and Merkinch Community Centre the very best going forward.
