That the Parliament congratulates Uddingston Strathclyde Pipe Band for placing 6th in Grade 4 at the recent 2022 World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, while their drum corps were crowned Champion of Champions; notes that success at the World Championships follows on from other milestone achievements by the Band in 2022, most notably winning Best Drum Corps in Grade 4A at the Scottish Championship; acknowledges that the Band’s piping success comes in the year that they also celebrate their 50th anniversary; understands that the Band are proud of their community roots, playing regularly at Lanarkshire landmark events including the Bothwell Scarecrow Festival, Bothwell Santa Parade and Uddingston Christmas Fayre; applauds the Uddingston Strathclyde Pipe Band for their 50 years of keeping local piping traditions alive in central Scotland, and wishes the Band many more years of community excellence and professional success.
