Girvan Youth Trust Nominated for Two Awards

That the Parliament congratulates Girvan Youth Trust, a youth charity in the Carrick area, on its nomination in two categories at 2022’s National Youth Work Awards; notes that the group has been nominated for Community Youth Work Projects of the Year, and the National Skills and Achievement Award; understands that an awards dinner will be held on 1 June 2022, at Glasgow’s Doubletree Hilton; believes that the group is the sole youth work provider in the area; recognises Girvan Youth Trust’s support through the COVID-19 pandemic to the community’s young people, delivering a range of hands-on workshops, activities and life skills; understands that the group has created a bespoke positive pathways project for vulnerable school leavers to introduce them to, and help develop, employability skills and confidence; notes that the group is in partnership with Girvan Academy, Community Learning and Development, Ayrshire College and Skills Development Scotland; encourages Girvan Youth Trust with its continued endeavours, and wishes it well at the awards later in 2022.
