Nan McFarlane, Troon

  • Submitted by: Siobhian Brown, Ayr, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 09 May 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-04293

That the Parliament notes with great sadness the passing of Nan McFarlane from Troon; understands that Nan served as councillor for Troon at South Ayrshire Council for 10 years and was known as the “daughter of Troon” due to her love for the town; further understands that Nan passed away peacefully at the age of 83 at her home on 30 April 2022; understands that Nan fought for projects that she and her community cared about, including saving the Gaiety Theatre; further understands that she was a devoted champion for people living with sensory impairment, and believes that Nan will be sadly missed by her family, friends, colleagues, and the local community.
