That the Parliament congratulates The Compass Theatre Group as it prepares to put on a new play at Ayr’s Gaiety Theatre in March 2022; notes that the play, Hangmen, is inspired by the time when public hanging was abolished, and will be set in the early 1960s; further notes that this dark comedy will follow the story of publican, Harry Wade, a retired hangman who runs a pub in Oldham; acknowledges that all 12 actors and actresses in the show live and work in Ayrshire, with the group donating to local charities each year; understands that tickets are now available online and at the Gaiety Box Office, and wishes the cast well as they prepare to bring this multi-award winning comedy to Ayr.
