That the Parliament congratulates Stewart Rooney and Omar Taher on their election to the Scottish Youth Parliament (SYP) to represent Renfrewshire North and West; welcomes the reports that thousands of young people across Renfrewshire engaged in democracy to cast ballots to elect their new representatives; understands that Members of the SYP (MSYPs) meet three times a year across Scotland and campaign on issues important to young people aged 12 to 25, ranging from education to human rights, which, it considers, helps to ensure that the voices of young people are heard in the democratic process, and welcomes all elected MSYPs to their roles and wishes them well in their upcoming term.
