Inverclyde’s Young People Elect Two New MSYPs

That the Parliament congratulates Maya McCrae, 16, and Keziah Rugumya, 17, on being elected to represent Inverclyde in the Scottish Youth Parliament; notes that 2,321 votes were cast online via the Young Scot website, in schools and at Inverclyde Council’s iYouth Zones in Greenock and Port Glasgow; recognises that Maya and Keziah, who attend Clydeview Academy and Inverclyde Academy respectively, have been invited to take part in discussions with Inverclyde Council’s education Directors to share their views and ideas for the benefit of local young people; welcomes Maya and Keziah’s enthusiasm for ensuring young people’s voices are heard on a range of important issues; commends their commitment to engage with local young people to find out what issues they would like to see their two new MSYPs take forward, and wishes them all the best in their new roles.
