Penicuik Ambassadors, Volunteer Team of the Year

That the Parliament congratulates Penicuik Ambassadors on receiving the prestigious Volunteer Team of the Year award from Volunteer Midlothian as part of Volunteers Week 2021; notes that the group played a critical role in providing support to the community during the 2020 lockdown and continues to do so; understands that volunteers provided vital services such as social support, shopping and delivery of prescriptions to those who were shielding, led initiatives such as starting a mask making group, opened a lending library and ran a school clothing bank; recognises that the group has been instrumental in facilitating the localised response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the Penicuik area; wishes Penicuik Ambassadors well in their future endeavours, and thanks all community volunteers throughout Scotland for all that they have done, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
