That the Parliament congratulates the more than 50 trade union members who have been awarded compensation totalling £1.9 million after major construction firms admitted that they had been unlawfully blacklisted and denied work; understands that this means more than £35 million has been paid out to over 1,200 workers who have suffered due to the blacklist; further understands that the eight firms that have admitted to their role in the blacklist and have compensated trade unionists are Sir Robert McAlpine, Balfour Beatty, Costain, Kier, Laing O’Rourke, Skanska UK, Vinci and Carillion, and calls on the Scottish Government to stop awarding public contracts to firms that utilise blacklisting.
