Black Arrow and Skyrora

That the Parliament notes the upcoming unveiling of the Black Arrow in Penicuik by the Scottish company, Skyrora, on 25 January 2019; understands that the Black Arrow is the UK's only rocket to successfully launch a satellite into orbit but had lain at its crash landing site in the South Australian outback for 48 years prior to Skyrora stepping in to preserve it and return it to Scotland; believes that the Black Arrow represents an important piece of heritage in the space sector, which continues to thrive today in Scotland, with Skyrora's next rockets, Skylark Micro and SkyHy, aiming to allow its team to gain more launch experience, with the latter capable of reaching the edge of space; hopes that this unveiling will serve as inspiration to the next generation of space scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs in Midlothian and across Scotland, and wishes all at Skyrora the very best with their future endeavours.
