That the Parliament congratulates the drama series, Outlander, on winning the 2018 Saturn Award for Best Fantasy TV Series; understands that this is the third consecutive year that Outlander has won the Best Fantasy TV Series award; welcomes the $400 million investment that the production has brought to Scotland, as well as the considerable tourism and cultural benefits; believes that securing returning high-quality drama productions is an important part of growing Scotland’s film and television industry, and calls on the newly established Screen Unit within Creative Scotland to ensure that Scotland is successful in attracting high-value returning productions that can support jobs and training opportunities in the industry.
