That the Parliament commends the students involved with People and Planet for their direct action to disrupt the Barclays AGM; understands that the action was focused on pressuring Barclays to stop financing fossil fuels generally and the expansion of the Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain Pipeline in particular; further understands that there are serious concerns regarding the impact of the Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain Pipeline on the environment and the health and livelihood of nearby residents, particularly those of First Nations communities; recalls the commitment under Article 2 of the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement to make financial flows consistent with a pathway towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and calls for all financiers to fully divest from fossil fuels.
