That the Parliament congratulates Chief Superintendent Gillian Imery from Clackmannanshire, on being presented with the Queen's Police Medal (QPM) at Buckingham Palace in recognition of her 30 years of service; understands that Gillian, who grew up in the Hillfoots and attended Dollar Academy, was the first female to be posted as a detective sergeant in Edinburgh, where she later took up the role of divisional commander; acknowledges that she was Police Scotland's first head of public protection and divisional crime, where she progressed national standards of investigation into rape, FGM, forced marriage and honour-based violence; notes her leading role in other critical areas, including the management of registered sex offenders; welcomes Gillian's work in engaging with people who have had little contact with the authorities and her establishment of a consultancy group with third sector organisations to focus on minority issues; welcomes her appointment as the first female assistant inspector at HM Inspector and Constabulary in Scotland, and wishes Gillian the very best with her ongoing excellent work.
