That the Parliament congratulates the staff and students of the Roslin Institute at the University of Edinburgh on winning the prestigious Athena SWAN Gold Award at a ceremony held at the University in Glasgow on 4 December 2017; notes that the institute is one of only 10 university departments or institutes across the UK to hold this prestigious award, and the only one in Scotland; recognises that a much lower proportion of women scientists than males  progress to the most senior levels in academia, and acknowledges the institute's commitment to changes, small and large, to support women’s career development and to support all staff to achieve their full potential.
