That the Parliament welcomes the news that the Glasgow School of Art (GSA) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Renfrewshire Council to work with Castlehead High School to create Scotland's first School of Creative Education; believes that education is a key tool in tackling poverty; encourages the partnership in its goal of developing both qualifications and life skills among pupils and maximising their potential as they go on to further study and work; understands that staff from GSA and Castlehead High School will come together to share best practice, that GSA will bring its studio-based culture to the school, and that it is already being developed in the school's art and technology departments, and welcomes that GSA views this project as both an opportunity to actively support the Paisley 2021 bid for UK City of Culture and as a long-term relationship that is mutually beneficial for it and the pupils.
