That the Parliament welcomes the National Wallace Monument’s preparations to commemorate the 720th anniversary of the Battle of Stirling Bridge; understands that the victory of William Wallace and Andrew de Moray will be celebrated at the monument in Stirling with a weekend of special events and activities for people of all ages, including games, entertainment and historic storytelling; notes that, as part of the commemorations, costumed actors will bring to life the main events leading up to the battle, which took place on 11 September 1297, with a portrayal of the victory from the point of view of de Moray and Wallace; understands that other family-friendly events will be taking place across the city to mark the occasion, and wishes all involved in the preparations the very best of luck for the activities.
