Brian Ronald Wins STUC Helen Dowie Award for Lifelong Learning

That the Parliament congratulates Brian Ronald, the Unite Union Learning Representative (ULR) at Rolls-Royce Inchinnan, on winning the 2017 STUC Helen Dowie Award for Lifelong Learning; understands that Brian has been a trade union activist for over 20 years and is currently the lead ULR at Rolls-Royce; recognises that he helps organise Rolls-Royce's Open University degree programme, which offers learners the opportunity to earn a degree as part-time learners, and that there are 30 registered Open University learners at Rolls-Royce; further congratulates Brian on being the first graduate of this Open University programme in October 2016, and wishes him continued success in the future.
