That the Parliament welcomes the invaluable work being undertaken by North Lanarkshire Carers Together; notes that its recent AGM highlighted the support that it offers through initiatives such as, Bazooka Arts, Befriend in Bellshill, Tea and a Blether in Coatbridge, which focuses on people living with dementia, and a local cookery course, at the end of which everyone who takes part is given a free slow cooker and a range of recipes; notes that the group has established an annual Tony Fitzpatrick Special Achievement Award, in recognition of Tony's dedicated work on behalf of carers during his lifetime, and that the first award was presented at the AGM to an 11-year-old carer, Frida Skinner; acknowledges that Carers Week 2017, which took place in June, highlighted that more than 759,000 people in Scotland are currently providing care for an older, disabled or seriously-ill loved one, and thanks everyone at North Lanarkshire Carers Together for the essential support and advice that the group provides.
