Voluntary Action South Lanarkshire’s Volunteering Awards 2017

That the Parliament congratulates the winners and nominees who attended the recent Voluntary Action South Lanarkshire (VASLan) Volunteer Awards ceremony, in particular James Cunningham, from the Lightburn Elderly Association Project (LEAP), on his nomination as Committee Member of the Year, Isabella Bell Banks, also from LEAP, for winning Long Serving Volunteer of the Year, Geraldine Baird, of the Rutherglen and Cambuslang Housing Association, on her nomination, LEAP on its nomination as Volunteering Organisation of the Year, Sam McCrory, from 3rd Blantyre Cub Scout Group, on his nomination as Young Volunteer of the Year, and Sandy Hutchison, of 138th Glasgow (Cambuslang Parish) Scout Group, on his nomination as Volunteer of the Year; understands that a total of 118 nominations were received, and commends the vast amount of selfless work that volunteers and voluntary organisations undertake across South Lanarkshire.
