Healthy n Happy Wins GSK Impact Award

That the Parliament congratulates the Rutherglen-based charity, Healthy n Happy, on being chosen from among 400 to win one of the 10 GSK Impact Awards, which recognise excellence among groups that aim to improve health and wellbeing in communities; notes that these prestigious awards are run by the pharmaceutical and health care company, Glaxo Smith Klein (GSK), in partnership with independent charity, the King’s Fund; understands that Healthy n Happy was recognised for its ability in increasing confidence and self-esteem, boosting skills and relationships and raising awareness of health issues in areas of high deprivation; notes that the award includes a £30,000 funding boost for the charity; commends the hard work and efforts of its volunteers and staff, and wishes Healthy n Happy well in its activities across the Rutherglen and Cambuslang areas.
