  • Date lodged: Thursday, 02 February 2017
  • Motion reference: S5M-03822

That the Parliament commends the charitable efforts of Billy Monkhouse, who is from Greenock; notes that he has raised £15,000 for Help for Heroes following his son, Stephen, being tragically killed after saving a wounded colleague in Afghanistan; acknowledges the bravery of Stephen, who served in the Scots Guards; believes that the significant amount of money that Billy has raised will help current and former service personnel from all corners of the UK, and recognises the courageous efforts of all of the men and women in the armed forces who risk their lives every day to keep the country safe.
