That the Parliament welcomes the news that the Agnes Hunter Trust has agreed the sale of its complete portfolio of 92 properties in Lorne Street in Leith to Places for People Scotland, ensuring that all residents can stay in their homes; understands that Places for People Scotland, which is a subsidiary of Castle Rock Edinvar and is one of Scotland’s leading housing associations and a registered charity, has confirmed that the sale of the property portfolio will not affect the lease agreement and rights of the tenants; believes that this news secures the residents’ homes and successfully concludes a long campaign by the Lorne Community Association (LCA), in which it stopped plans for individual sales of the properties, evictions from homes and people waiting with anxiety about their futures; congratulates the LCA on what it sees as the association's tireless efforts to resist the proposed evictions; appreciates the support and involvement of elected members and the Scottish Government, and believes that this result is down to the residents who have campaigned long and hard to have their voices heard, to keep their homes and the Lorne Street community together.
