From Classroom to Community, Bruce Aitchison Recognised by Borders College

That the Parliament congratulates Bruce Aitchison on being awarded the Honorary Fellowship of Borders College at the 2025 graduation ceremony, which was held at the Borders Events Centre in Kelso; recognises Bruce’s outstanding contributions as a coach, educator, wellbeing advocate, public speaker and celebrant, and his inspiring work as the founder of Happiness is Egg Shaped, which promotes positivity and community through sport; acknowledges his lifelong commitment to education, inclusion and mental health advocacy, alongside his active support for charities, such as the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation and Cash for Kids; notes his roots in Stow and his early leadership as captain of Galashiels Academy’s Scottish Schools Cup-winning rugby team; commends Borders College for celebrating the achievements of its graduates and its continued excellence in providing opportunities for learners across the region, and wishes Bruce continued success as he inspires others through his dedication to wellbeing, sport and community spirit.
