That the Parliament congratulates the success of the Borders Book Festival Schools Day, which was hosted by Jedburgh Grammar Campus on 24 September 2025; understands that over 2,000 attendees took part, surpassing the achievements of previous years; acknowledges the efforts of the Baillie Gifford Schools Programme in enabling pupils to experience the joys of reading and engage with authors such as Joseph Coelho, Michaela Morgan and Alan Windram; commends what it sees as the important role of the Education Department’s Inspire Learning team in supporting the livestreaming of lessons to ensure access for all pupils in primary schools across Cheviot, Jedburgh and Hawick; notes the engaging programme that catered for nursery, primary and secondary school pupils, and the generosity shown in providing each pupil with a free book to be signed by the author as well as transport to attend, and thanks the Baillie Gifford Schools Programme and all those involved for making the Borders Book Festival Schools Day such a resounding success.
