That the Parliament congratulates Our Community Kitchen (OCK) in Haddington and the Compass School in East Lothian on being presented with an Excellence Award for their work in confronting age discrimination and stereotypes at the Scottish Intergenerational Conference and Excellence Awards 2025, which was held in Inverness; recognises the success of their inter-generational partnership, established in early 2024 through the Growing Friendships project, which has brought together older members of the community and school pupils to share activities including gardening, music, art and dance; celebrates the development of meaningful relationships across generations and the positive impact this has had on all involved; commends Generations Working Together for recognising the project’s achievements amid strong national competition; notes the availability of two short films showcasing the project on the Generations Working Together website and Vimeo, and wishes all those involved continued success in promoting inter-generational understanding and community cohesion.
