Tempest Brewery Marks Borders Railway 10th Anniversary Milestone with Commemorative Beer

  • Submitted by: Christine Grahame, Midlothian South, Tweeddale and Lauderdale, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 03 September 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-18719

That the Parliament notes the launch of Fast Track 10, a limited-edition commemorative beer created by Tempest Brewery to mark the 10th anniversary of the Borders Railway; believes that the Borders Railway, officially opened by Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in September 2015, has been a transformative project, reconnecting communities across the Scottish Borders and Midlothian and driving economic growth in the region; welcomes that the railway has carried more than 13 million passenger journeys over its 30-mile route, serving 10 stations between Edinburgh Waverley and Tweedbank; understands that Tempest Brewery has produced 600 cans of Fast Track 10, symbolising the connection between the line’s speed, its decade of operation, and its 10 stations; commends Tempest Brewery for its creativity in celebrating this significant milestone, and congratulates all those who contributed to the successful return of the railway, which, it believes, continues to deliver lasting social and economic benefits to the Borders and beyond.
