Gairnshiel Jubilee Bridge Wins 2025 RIAS Award for Architectural Excellence

  • Submitted by: Alexander Burnett, Aberdeenshire West, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 05 September 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-18715

That the Parliament celebrates the Gairnshiel Jubilee Bridge, which is in Royal Deeside, on being recognised with a 2025 Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) Award for its architectural excellence; understands that the bridge, which was constructed with recycled granite and weathering steel, was designed by Moxon Architects and has been celebrated for its outstanding contribution to Scotland’s built environment; believes that it is a bold and modern infrastructure solution that addresses a vital transport need; understands that the bridge honours its historic predecessor at Gairnshiel while offering functionality and finesse in a sensitive highland setting, and wishes all those involved every success in the future.
