That the Parliament congratulates the Ancre Somme Association (ASA) Scotland on its 10th anniversary and commends what it sees as its outstanding voluntary work in promoting remembrance, education, and support for the Armed Forces community; recognises the success of the 2025 Armed Forces Day Parade in Laurieston, which paid special tribute to the UK’s Special Forces and the life of SAS hero, John McAleese, marking the 45th anniversary of Operation Nimrod and the Iranian Embassy siege; notes that the event featured local cadet forces, veterans, community bands and singers, and generous donations to local cadet units and the Veterans’ Chaplaincy; further recognises ASA Scotland’s wide-ranging contribution to communities across Scotland, including its fundraising, educational outreach in schools, creation of memorials, and campaigns such as the Ribbon of Poppies; applauds the charity’s commitment to preserving Scotland’s military heritage and supporting serving personnel, veterans, and their families, and encourages continued public support for ASA Scotland for it what it considers is invaluable work in ensuring that the sacrifices of past and present service members are never forgotten.
