That the Parliament commends Visit East Lothian and local tourism businesses for their outstanding contribution to the continued success of East Lothian’s tourism sector; acknowledges that in 2024 the sector generated £379 million for the local economy and supported over 4,600 full-time equivalent jobs across the region; believes that these achievements underscore East Lothian’s enduring appeal as a premier visitor destination, celebrated for hosting world-class events such as the Genesis Scottish Open and Fringe by the Sea, and expresses sincere thanks to all those whose efforts have driven this remarkable success.
