Congratulating Chelsey Main of NHS Highland on Winning RCN Scotland Nursing Support Worker of the Year 2025

That the Parliament congratulates Chelsey Main, a nursing support worker with the NHS Highland Forensic Service at New Craig’s Hospital, on being named the 2025 Nursing Support Worker of the Year at the RCN Scotland Nurse of the Year Awards; recognises what it considers to be her profound impact on forensic inpatients and community patients through tailored one-to-one activities and practical life-skills support that foster independence, confidence and re-engagement with the community; acknowledges her role in co-facilitating a weekly social group that connects patients from different wards and helps to reduce isolation; commends her trustworthiness, consistency and joyful approach, which help some of society’s most vulnerable and stigmatised individuals to feel supported and optimistic about recovery, and expresses gratitude to nursing support workers across NHS Highland and Scotland for their vital contribution to patient care.
