That the Parliament commends Gary and Kirsty Jardine, from Dumfries, for their extraordinary fundraising efforts in memory of their beloved daughter, Brooke Jardine, who tragically passed away in 2019 at the age of 15 following a courageous eight-year battle with a brain tumour; recognises that, in Brooke’s name, the Jardines have raised an incredible £75,000 for Young Lives Versus Cancer Scotland, a charity that provided vital support to the family during the most difficult time of their lives; notes that their final fundraising challenge will see them trek part of the Great Wall of China, beginning on 25 August 2025, just days before Brooke would have celebrated her 21st birthday; acknowledges the strength, compassion and dedication shown by Gary and Kirsty in turning personal grief into meaningful action that benefits other families facing similar challenges; recognises the support of their daughter, Skye, who will join them for part of the journey, and celebrates the Jardine family’s enduring legacy of love, resilience and community spirit, which continues to inspire people across Dumfries and Galloway and beyond.
