That the Parliament congratulates Glasgow-based nursing staff on their success at the 2025 RCN Scotland Nurse of the Year Awards; celebrates Kath Williamson on winning the Inspiring Excellence – Nursing Innovation and Research Award; commends Kath’s pioneering work on weight management, and notes in particular that she is pursuing a PhD at the University of Glasgow, using innovative mixed-methods research to map needs, experiences and costs to identify gaps in weight-management services; recognises what it sees as the vital contribution that clinical academic nurses make to better outcomes, and supports clear career pathways that enable nurses to combine practice, education and research; further congratulates Kirstie Law, an emergency nurse practitioner on the ear, nose and throat ward at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow, on winning the Adult Nursing Award; understands that Kirstie provides high-quality, patient-centred emergency care to around 4,500 people each year, enabling many to be treated and discharged without admission, improving patient flow and use of resources, and that she plays a leading role in training junior doctors and nurses, including through work with Glasgow Caledonian University to enhance ENT nurse practitioner training, thanks RCN Scotland for championing excellence in nursing, and sends its warmest congratulations to Kath, Kristie, and their colleagues across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
