Return of Whisky Week Aberdeen

  • Submitted by: Kevin Stewart, Aberdeen Central, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 01 August 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-18447

That the Parliament welcomes the return of Whisky Week to Aberdeen from 21 to 31 August 2025; notes that the 10-day celebration, which is the second annual staging of the festival, will see a number of bars, pubs and venues across Aberdeen participating in the event by offering unique selections of drams and hosting exclusive events throughout the week, including tastings, talks, tours and other experiences aimed at both seasoned whisky drinkers and newcomers alike; believes that Whisky Week will highlight the north east’s longstanding connection with the whisky industry, with Aberdeen being home to the earliest record of a whisky still, dating back to 1505; wishes all the venues participating in Whisky Week all the best in making it a success, and hopes that everyone who goes along to enjoy a dram or twa has a great time.
