That the Parliament thanks Canon William McGinley for his 63 years of service to the Catholic Church as he enters retirement; understands that Canon McGinley was ordained in St Andrew’s Cathedral on 29 June 1962 and was appointed as an assistant priest at St Bernard’s in 1962; notes that he served in several churches across the diocese before being appointed a parish priest at St Stephen’s Sighthill in 1992, before moving onto St Conval’s and finally St Patrick’s in Old Kilpatrick, where he has remained since 2013 up to his retirement on 4 July; recognises the hard work and service that Canon McGinley has given to the Catholic community in Clydebank and beyond, and wishes him all the best on his retirement.
