That the Parliament pays tribute to Liam Byrne from Stonehaven, who tragically passed away aged 24 on 21 June 2025 in the Swiss Alps; understands that Liam was an experienced wingsuit flyer, earning the nickname “Bird Man”, and became the world’s youngest wingsuit pilot at the age of 17 before going on to be the British wingsuit performance flying champion before his sad passing; notes that Liam featured in a BBC documentary called The Boy Who Can Fly, which was first broadcast in October 2024; acknowledges that the documentary followed Liam for over a year and showed the meticulous training that he undertook to prepare for each jump, including studying aerodynamics and fine-tuning his mind and body, and the fastidious attention to detail he paid when preparing his kit; acknowledges the remarkable inspiration that he provided and bold spirit that Liam had, which has been reflected by the many warm tributes that have been shared by those who knew and admired him, and passes on its sincere condolences to Liam’s parents, his family and friends on his tragic passing.
