That the Parliament congratulates Giffnock resident Martin Fairley, on being appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in His Majesty The King's Birthday Honours List 2025 for services to criminal justice; understands that Mr Fairley holds the position of service delivery manager for the Scottish Policy Authority Forensic Services and that he has made a major contribution to forensic science in Scotland over a 45-year period; further understands that Mr Fairley has worked on a considerable number of serious crime cases and delivered justice for the victims of criminal behaviour and their families; recognises that Mr Fairley has mentored and developed a large number of scientists in Scotland in the field of forensic services and imparted his experience to support policing and the criminal justice system both for the present and the future; commends Mr Fairley for receiving an OBE, and believes that it is very well-deserved recognition of his contribution to solving crimes and delivering justice for victims in Scotland.
