That the Parliament welcomes the extra £1 million invested by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) Tennis Foundation into the LTA Youth Schools programme; understands that, thanks to the investment, every child in Scotland will have the opportunity to try tennis at school regardless of age, gender, ability, disability or background; notes that the programme, supported by LTA, LTA Tennis Foundation, Tennis Scotland, sportscotland and the Scottish Government, will build on the inspirational achievements of players such as Andy Murray and Jamie Murray by creating additional opportunities outside of school through the creation of links with local clubs, parks and venues, and celebrates the current success of the programme in Scotland, which, it understands, already has higher engagement than the rest of Great Britain with 53% of the 2,487 schools across the country participating.
