  • Submitted by: Tim Eagle, Highlands and Islands, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 25 June 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-18121

That the Parliament recognises what it considers to be the vital role of RAF Lossiemouth in Moray as part of the UK’s defence infrastructure; welcomes the reported significant investment by Boeing to support the base’s strategic capabilities, including over £50 million committed to new infrastructure to accommodate the introduction of the E-7 Wedgetail airborne early warning aircraft; understands that this investment has created over 125 jobs in Moray, including opportunities for apprentices and trainee engineers, helping to sustain the region’s skilled workforce; commends Boeing’s role in the £100 million Atlantic Building, a joint initiative with the Ministry of Defence that supports all nine P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircrafts, which it considers are central to maritime surveillance and the protection of the UK’s nuclear deterrent and aircraft carriers, and recognises what it sees as the enduring contribution of Boeing to the Moray economy, reinforcing the importance of RAF Lossiemouth as a defence and economic asset for the area.
