That the Parliament congratulates Anne Carstairs, from Crossmichael in Dumfries and Galloway, who has been a leader of the 2nd Castle Douglas Guides for nearly 40 years, as well as a guide leader for half a century; notes that she will soon be retiring, having devoted all of her life to guiding and having held many varied positions along the way, including county commissioner in the region; acknowledges her enormous passion for guiding and the important role that it plays in the development of young girls; recognises that Anne, a botanist by profession, having graduated from the University of St Andrews with an honours degree, has travelled around the world for her professional and voluntary work with the Red Cross and the Vine Trust, including organising work party expeditions to Tanzania and Peru; understands that Anne has also been a longstanding volunteer for the charity, Food Train, as well as a session clerk at Crossmichael Church, and wishes Anne a happy and long retirement in the coming years.
