Blantyre Congregational Church Wins 2025 Serving the Community Award

That the Parliament congratulates Blantyre Congregational Church on winning the 2025 Serving the Community Award from the Congregational Federation at its annual conference in Nottingham; notes that the accolade celebrates churches whose mission is lived out in practical, compassionate service to others; understands that the church was praised for its sustainable, outward-focused strategy aimed at supporting people facing poverty, loneliness, exclusion or crisis; further understands that members of the church are deeply embedded and involved with a number of community initiatives, including the Hamilton Churches Drop-in Centre, which provides food and practical support, Blantyre Miners Welfare Community Garden, Bonnie Blantyre, Blantyre Community Council, and the local foodbank, and commends Rev Malcolm Anderson and his congregation for demonstrating what can be achieved when a church focuses on serving its community.
