Angus Pelham Burn MBE to Receive a Master of the University

That the Parliament congratulates Angus Pelham Burn MBE on receiving a Master of the University from Aberdeen University; recognises that Angus is both a philanthropist and retired businessman, who started his career with Hudson’s Bay Company in Canada, and returned to Scotland to farm after seven years; commends Angus for his successful career in business in both senior company and board roles, including chair of Aberdeen Assessment Management, Scottish Provident, and the Aberdeen Airport Consultative Committee; recognises that he also served as the Vice Lord Lieutenant of Kincardineshire for over 20 years; understands that he contributed to the university’s work, including donations to the Sir Duncan Rice Library and Cruickshank Botanic Garden; recognises that Angus was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE), and congratulates Angus on his achievements.
