That the Parliament welcomes the news that Aberdeen-based author, Roy Burnett, will donate the proceeds of his latest book to Clan Cancer Support; understands that the novel, which is titled Brace for Impact, is Roy’s third title and is based on the life and times of his uncle, Jimmy Johnson, who served with the Gordon Highlanders and the Commando regiment during the Second World War; further understands that Roy has chosen to donate the proceeds from book sales to Clan Cancer Support following the support that his daughter received from the charity when she was diagnosed with cancer in 2019; recognises that Roy is a regular volunteer for the charity and often drives accommodation guests to their appointments at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary in the Clan Cancer Support minibus; notes that Roy’s book will be launched at a special event at Clan House on Westburn Road on 3 July 2025, and hopes that both the launch and the book itself are a huge success, raising lots of money to aid Clan Cancer Support's important work.
