Berryhill Primary and Nursery Achieves UNICEF UK’s Rights Respecting School Gold Award

That the Parliament congratulates Berryhill Primary and Nursery in Craigneuk on being awarded the UNICEF UK Rights Respecting School Gold Award; understands that this is the highest recognition granted by UNICEF UK and reflects the school’s outstanding commitment to embedding the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) in every aspect of school life; commends the staff, pupils and wider school community for fostering a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment where the rights of every child are promoted, protected and celebrated; recognises the dedication shown through a rigorous process of self-assessment, engagement in children’s rights initiatives and active pupil participation in advocating for their rights, and wishes Berryhill Primary and Nursery continued success as a model of rights-based education in Scotland.
