Aberdeen International Airport to Host Sixth Annual Midnight Runway Run

  • Submitted by: Jackie Dunbar, Aberdeen Donside, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 27 May 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-17634

That the Parliament welcomes the return of the highly anticipated midnight runway run, which is set to take place on 23 August 2025 at Aberdeen International Airport; notes that the event will see Aberdeen International Airport team up with CHC Helicopter to organise the event for a sixth year; understands that the 2024 event saw nearly 400 runners raise over £50,000 for charity; notes that this year will see the event aim to accommodate even more participants, with runners getting the opportunity to take part in a 4km route on the lit-up runway in order to raise as much money as possible; understands that Aberdeen International Airport’s chosen charity, AberNecessities, is set to benefit from the proceeds, with CHC Helicopter also set to name a chosen charity; wishes all participants good luck for the event, and commends the efforts of all those involved for organising what is set to be a great event.
